KEF - Košice Economic Forum
The history of the event dates back to 2014, when the Faculty of Economics of TUKE began to organize the Research Seminar, which loosely followed the tradition of seminars organized for students of doctoral studies. During the first year, several individuals from the departments of the Faculty of Economics of TUKE spoke at the seminar. The involvement of members of individual departments (and eventually also experts from outside the faculty) was aimed at, in addition to presenting the results of their own scientific research activities, providing stimulating feedback on the presented works before such works are submitted to quality journals and also creating a space for cooperation, e.g. in the field of joint publications. By the end of 2015, many invited guests from academic and economic policy circles also spoke at the Expert Seminar.
Since 2016, with the intention of better promotion of this activity, i.e. regular performances of invited distinguished guests from the academic community, economic and political scene and economic and financial industry at the Faculty of Economics of TUKE, the Research Seminar has been transformed into the Košice Economic Forum, which is an activity of a purely academic nature and its intention is to activate an open discussion on a wide range of economic and social problems and economic challenges of the present time in Slovakia and abroad.
