What programmes can I study at the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Košice?

Finance, Banking and Investment
- We have all three levels of accredited study programmes
- You will study private and public finance in all areas, you will be taught to be able to manage corporate, family and international finances
- You will learn how to function on financial as well as stock markets
- You will learn the basics of business, valid legislation and modern forms of e-commerce
Economics and Management of Public Administration
- We offer all three levels of accredited study programmes
- You will learn about the economics and finances of the state, regions and towns
- You will learn to manage a town, hospital, non-profit organization, business, cultural centre
- You will learn to write and manage successful projects in the private and public sectors

What additional documents do I need to send when applying to the Faculty of Economics?
Together with your electronic application form, you need to attach the following documents:
- CV;
- copy of your valid passport/ID Card;
- Transcript of Records from previous education;
- the final certificate: Secondary School/Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree depending on study level you are applying for;
- confirmation that you paid fees to process your application form, currently € 50 which is non-refundable.
Please note that as determined by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic, every applicant must submit a notary authorised copy of the apostilled school leaving certificate and its notary authorised Slovak translation by a sworn translator in Slovakia. The original certificates must be in the official language of the country where it has been issued. For contact details of authorities competent to issue an Apostille please check.
If countries do not issue Apostilles, applicants must have their documents „superlegalized”. Superlegalization is provided by the Ministry of Education, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the end by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in that country or in the country which acts on its behalf.
What is the recognition process of my school leaving certificate?
The decision on the recognition of the certificate of education issued by a foreign secondary school is issued by the Department of Education of the respective District Office. In the case of TUKE it is the Department of Education, Zádielská st. 2, 040 78 Košice.

Delegation of Power (if applicable): you might appoint an authorized person to submit documents to the Regional School Office by the Delegation of Power.
The nostrification must be submitted no later than on 15th September of the respective academic year. Without nostrification, you are not entitled to study an undergraduate course.
What is the process for recognition of Bachelor’s degree?
In case you are planning to study at the Technical University in Kosice at the Master level, you will need to do nostrification/recognition of your Bachelor degree from your home country. The office in charge at the Technical University in Kosice is the Office of Vice-Rector for Education (main building Letná 9, 1st floor, Kosice).

The nostrification must be submitted no later than on 15th September of the respective academic year. Without submitting the nostrification you are not entitled to study at the Faculty of Economics.
The process may take up to 4 weeks, so it is necessary to start in advance to allow you enough time.
Is there any entrance examination?
No, there is no entry exams. You can check admission procedures here.
What is the length of the study programmes?
- Bachelor study programme: full-time 6 semesters/part-time 8 semesters with 180 credits
- Master study programme: full-time 4 semesters/part-time 6 semesters with 120 credits
What are the deadlines for sending the application forms?
- 30 June of the respective academic year for both, Bachelor and Master levels
What is the amount of tuition fee and how it is paid for?
The annual tuition fee differs according to the programme you choose from:
- € 5,000 undergraduate programme
- € 6,000 postgraduate programme
The payment of the tuition fees shall be made by bank transfer not later than before 15th September of the respective academic year.
The tuition fee is only refundable in case your visa is not issued.
