Short Bio

Assoc. Prof. Dengjun ZHANG, PhD., Stavanger University, Stavanger, Norway

Dengjun Zhang is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Stavanger Business School, Norway. He holds a PhD. from Auburn University, USA. Prior to joining academia, he has worked as an auditor, financial analyst, and investment manager for about ten years in Shanghai, China. Dr. Zhang has written on various subjects, including commodity demand, price and volatility, trade policy, firm performance, credit risk, and audit assurance, with case studies of fisheries, hotels, energy, and manufacturing. Since 2013, he has published 40 peer-reviewed articles in international economics, accounting, and finance journals, such as Energy Economics, Food Policy, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Journal of Futures Market, and International Journal of Finance & Economics. His research is recently focused on the business environment in developing countries, especially about how access to finance affects manufacturing firms' investment decisions, innovation, environmental and financial performance, and energy intensity.
